Hi
I am one of just over a dozen would be/beginner presenters who are two thirds of the way through this presentation course, and I am actually enjoying it. I was curious to see how Paddy and Moira would cater for our various needs, some of us want to present to just a few people – some to hundreds – and at least one brave soul is facing teenagers!. I can see now that by putting into practice their advice you can create a useful presentation for any audience.
We have covered a wide range of tools and techniques including voice projection, techniques to help us stand calmly (instead looking like we are frozen in terror or about to bolt, methods for engaging our audiences attention and including them without losing control.
Moira and Paddy have taught us that if you know what you want the audience to take away (what you need to deliver), use the right vehicle, provide clear communication of directions, and round it all off by parking carefully (great endings) -- what could have been a runaway train wrecking havoc as it jumps the rails and plows through a sleeping village becomes a manageable courier van… ok sorry I got caught up in the imagery. But hopefully you get the picture and next time I stand in front of a group I will be able to Deliver It!
